Welcome to the Madhouse – Video & Lyrics
Welcome to the Madhouse, a carnival of dreams,
Where anything can happen, but nothing’s as it seems.
The news you read is fake, what’s real you soon forget,
You’re liked by all your friends, who you’ve never even met.
The buffet’s open every day, it’s all that you can eat.
Don’t ask what’s in the water, don’t ask what’s in the meat.
The scientists create the food from test tube to the tin,
The chemicals are good for you, that’s why they put them in.
Well it’s three meals every day and eight hours every night,
Then you get to do it all again when morning sheds its light.
Paranoia in the Madhouse, reality show,
Who’s behind the cameras? No one really knows.
If the pressure starts to get to you, you only have to say –
There’s a man that you can call, to take it all away.
If you want a high meet Charlie; if you like to chill there’s weed,
And if the show is dragging slow you need a little speed.
Remember when the drugs don’t work, your brain can’t take the strain,
One day we’ll all be robots, so we won’t feel any pain.
It’s confusing in the Madhouse; if you need a guiding light,
Some people find religion to get them through the night.
For fast relief just have belief, get down on bended knee,
There are Gods of every shape and size to set your spirit free.
They all say they’re the holy one, the only one on high –
So all the other candidates, they must be telling lies.
They all believe in love, but something isn’t right,
We have to keep them far apart or else they start to fight.
Well it’s three meals every day and eight hours every night,
Then you get to do it all again when morning sheds its light.
There’s no aging in the Madhouse; we wear the plastic grin –
The actors can’t emote but they all have lovely skin.
So come and join the party, with all the other fools,
And while you watch your life go by, I’ll remind you of the rules.
Hidden in the small print that you signed when you arrived,
There’s one thing that you missed – you ain’t getting out alive.
This place is a departure lounge, all you got to do is wait,
And find a way to pass your time until they call your gate.
Well it’s three meals every day and eight hours every night
Then you get to do it all again when morning sheds its light.
